The excitement is still high as I continue trudging on through the forests of responsive design with Astrid and my trusty co-pilot, Claude. Our party is sometimes joined by Jeff, who we tolerate for his somewhat sensible directions… Sometimes.
How It’s Going
Let me be frank: It’s a struggle and a half trying to do things on my own. Luckily, my team, sanctioned by the powers that be, comprises of some very helpful members. Astrid organizes us. Claude is the witty sidekick go-getter who gets things done. And Jeff… Well, Jeff is. And sometimes isn’t. Geoff has his head in the clouds, and sometimes fancies things that aren’t there. But we value him all the same.
- Nabilah: the mastermind of the operation; runs on caffeine and sugar
- Astrid: the organizer who ensures we are on track and always gucci
- Claude: the whip-smart doer who is also a great thinker. MVP.
- Jeff: is there for the vibes. We send him on errands when Claude’s overworked. Under heavy supervision.

Version Out-of-Control
It is getting so real. I have never merged so many conflicts in my life, and I was once in charge of departments. Also, newsflash to me and noone else: branches are for making and deleting. I have been convolutedly trying to use the same feature branches as I progress, which is not the point. They’re snapshots! And I’m sure I’ve been told this, but after merging conflicts for the nth time, it sunk in. Sigh. Learning takes time, people.
Having done some responsive aspects, I am now working on personalizing the page.
Working hard, or hardly working?
What’s responsive?
Hopefully everything that matters.
- Page layouts - Check!
- Fonts - Clamped and ready to flow!
- Themes - Dark mode toggle available, and with user’s system preference integrated
- Reduced motion - Also taken into account 👍
- Images - Hard at work! This will be for later
What’s Next
Woah, time flies when you’re having fun! Soon enough it will be time for the final submission. In the meantime, these are things I have to focus on:
- Adding more content and projects
- Implementing more interactive features
- Setting up deployment automation
- Refining the design and user experience - always!
It’s giving… responding to resuscitation efforts.
Thoughts on Learning
Nothing worth it comes easy. Well, except for fast food. And treats. And a positive, jovial outlook on life! I’m kidding, of course. The world is a hot mess, literally and figuratively, and we’re all along for the ride. Why not learn before our inevitable end?
Peace out! 🍉
